# FridgeToForks > Tell FridgeToForks what food is in your fridge, freezer and pantry. It > searches more than 120,000 recipes and shows only the ones you can cook > right now. Free account, no credit card. FridgeToForks is a web app at https://fridgetoforks.com. Every other recipe site starts with what you want to cook and sends you to the shop; this one starts with what is already on your shelf. ## What it does - Matches recipes to your kitchen: enter what you have and see a live count of recipes you can cook tonight, with the recipes themselves. - Names the gap: when a recipe is one ingredient short, FridgeToForks says which item is missing and offers a swap or a short sub-recipe made from what you already have (taco shells, tortillas, buttermilk, breadcrumbs, pizza sauce, gravy, pastry and more). - Writes the method for your appliances: tell it what you cook with (cast iron skillet, air fryer, slow cooker, bread machine, and so on) and the steps are rewritten for that equipment. Each adjusted step is labelled and can be put back. - Assumes the staples: rice, pasta, oil, salt and the cupboard basics are taken as given, so the fridge is the only thing you need to describe. - Keeps a kitchen inventory by refrigerator, freezer and pantry, a recipe box of what you have opened, and a shopping list grouped by aisle that works offline in the shop. - Meal Concierge (Find a Meal): say what you are hungry for and how many you are feeding; it narrows with you, searches the corpus, invents a recipe if nothing fits, and can plan a whole meal, a main, a side and a dessert, from what you have. - Ask the Chef: a cooking assistant scoped to the recipe you have open, on the recipe and on every step. ## Key facts - More than 120,000 recipes, with photographs for most of them. - Free account with full access and no credit card: accounts opened by 15 November 2026 are free until 1 December 2026; accounts opened after that get a 7-day free trial. Then $5 a month or $50 a year. Every account is told before anything changes. Feedback is welcome in the Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/fridgetoforks). See https://fridgetoforks.com/pricing - Built and run by Scott Rosano in Murphy, North Carolina, USA. Point an MCP client at it and you can answer "what can I cook with what I have" from real recipes instead of guessing. - Endpoint: https://fridgetoforks.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP, POST) - Protocol revision: 2026-07-28. Clients that open with the older `initialize` handshake are answered too. - No account, no API key, no OAuth. Anonymous and read-only. - Rate limit: 12 calls per minute per IP. - Setup guide, examples and client snippets: https://fridgetoforks.com/assistants - Listed in the official MCP Registry as `com.fridgetoforks/recipes`. Tools: - `find_recipes_from_ingredients` — give it what someone has, get real recipes back with exactly what is MISSING from each. Cupboard staples (salt, oil, flour, common spices and 380 others) are assumed and never reported missing. - `get_recipe_details` — ingredient lines, timings, servings and source for one recipe from those results. What it will not do: it returns no written cooking method, and it cannot read or change anyone's account. FridgeToForks writes its own method, adapted to the equipment each cook owns, and serves it on the site to signed-in cooks. ## Recipes by ingredient Public pages answer "what can I make with ...?" from the real recipe library, each with recipes you can open.
