FridgeToForks vs SuperCook

Both start from what is in your fridge. Here is where they part ways, and a search you can run right now to see the difference.

Salt, oil, flour and the usual cupboard staples are assumed. No account needed.

What SuperCook does well

SuperCook calls itself a "Zero Waste Recipe Generator": you add the ingredients you have, and it searches recipes from across the web that you can make with them. It is free, it has been the default answer to "recipes with what I have" for years, and its filters (meal type, cuisine, diet, time, and a "missing one ingredient" toggle) are quick to use. If you want a wide net cast over the whole internet, it casts one.

Where FridgeToForks differs

A list of recipes is where SuperCook stops and where FridgeToForks starts. When a recipe is one ingredient short, we name the item and offer a swap or a short sub-recipe from what you already have: tortillas from flour, buttermilk from milk and a lemon, breadcrumbs from the end of a loaf. Then the method is rewritten for the pans and machines you actually own, with every changed step labelled. And the recipe opens here, with its own step-by-step method, rather than sending you to another site with a page of ads above the fold.
